WARNING!

For those who are thinking or already acquiring the S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah, be warned!

The wings on the figure are extremely fragile, especially the hinged joint at the base. Excessive handling of the wings may cause them to snap off without warning! Be wary of this fact when handling the figure. The right wing on mine broke, but I have since reattached it with Gorilla Glue. It looks as good as new, but articulation was totally sacrificed.

So please, be absolutely careful for those who are getting this figure.

  1. This is such a huge blow. Ghidorah had the potential to be the best figure to date, but Tamashii went backwards some where.

My Ghidorah is in customs, but I am not as excited as I once was ... How can it be used for stop motion with such a nasty defect :/.

Sorry for your heavy loss mate :(.

    1. Thanks man.

But yeah, this is certainly an eye opener for most people - these figures are mean't for display rather than play. King Ghidorah especially!

I'm still debating whether to get Destoroyah or not.... KG has me really been making me question my dedication to this line, unfortunately.

    2. Well, lets hope that Hinge joints wont be used for this line again :P.

Dont give up hope for this line just because of one bad figure, King Ghidorah is always a tricky design to work with anyway. Its just sad that they bailed out of Ball jointed wings ( they managed that fine with FR so why not Ghidorah?)

Hopfully this will be a wake up call to Tamashii. As I mentioned before, I will continue investing in this line BUT Wont be pre-ordering any of the main ones again after Burning Godzilla. Not after whats happened with Ghidorah ...

    3. As for me, the same. I will NOT be preordering these figures. If I do reserve them, it'll be through Bluefin on Amazon.com. That way, I am free to cancel the order if the figure is too much of a risk to buy in early reviews.

  2. The thing with these figures that over a short period of time the type of plastic used with these figures does not hold up, it becomes very brittle and will snap pretty easily. For the long haul I really don't see these things holding up to well.

    1. That is a sad truth. However, with the S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah, the wing broke the very day I got it. Goes to show that damage control was zero to none on this figure. Typically every S.H. MonsterArts figure up to date has been pretty durable. This was the first case of a breakage. Granted though, King Ghidorah is a tough design to perfect in figure form, especially when the figure is supposed to be super articulated.

  3. is it possible to just take the joint out glue it back together with gorilla glue then make a mold of the joint and cast a new one up out of tough plastic? ive done that with other figures and it works great.. of course you have to be artistic and know what your doing for something like that to work.. ive had nothing but good luck with Monster Arts,(figuarts in general) Figma, Revoltech.. the ONLY company ive had bad luck with is Play-Arts.. my Play Arts Joker broke in half so i had to cast a new joint for him as well
