Figure Review - X-Plus Toho 30cm Series Godzilla 1999

As the era of Japan's Godzilla came to an end with the creature's iconic death scene in the 1995 film, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, Hollywood took a crack at the Big G in their American reinvention of the character directed by Roland Emmerich. Unfortunately film was a massive disappointment amongst both fans and critics alike. This outrage, according legend, prompted Toho Studios to revive the classic Godzilla franchise in an all new film, Godzilla 2000: Millennium, released in December 1999 in Japan then brought over to the United States on August 18, 2000 for a limited theatrical run.

Along with Godzilla's return for the new millennium, he was given a brand new look mixing a bit of the classic design with the new. X-Plus finally took a crack at this fan-favorite design in figure form, released earlier this month.

Figure Review - Robot Spirits Evangelion Unit 02

Happy Box Day, people!

Today I received one of four belated Christmas gifts (that I bought for myself,) the Robot Spirits Evangelion Unit 02, also known as EVA-02 Production Model on the packaging. For the sake of this review and for people unfamiliar to the Evangelion franchise, we'll continue to refer to it just as Evangelion Unit 02.

Firstly, I have to give thanks to my buddy, John Thomson, who is a contributor for our good friends over at Importing Monsters. He was the one who pointed this figure out to me, knowing that I have been looking for one at a good price. Once he showed me the listing over at Jungle, I went in head first for it. So, if you're reading this John, I just wanted to say thanks a bunch!

Figure Review - Ultra-Act Ultra Seven (Renewal Ver.)

I am essentially caught up with Tamashii Nations' Ultra Brothers figure releases with my latest purchase of the Ultra-Act Ultra Seven (Renewal Ver.). Ultra Seven is the titular hero from the third series in the Ultra franchise. Ultra Seven is notable for facing moral dilemmas throughout his own series. Within the Ultra universe, Ultra Seven is the nephew of both Father of Ultra, and Mother of Ultra, step-cousin of Ultraman Ace, biological cousin of Ultraman Taro, and the father of Ultraman Zero.

This figure of him is Tamashii Nations' second attempt at sculpting the character, and frankly this one fairs better than the original.

Figure Review: NECA Pacific Rim 18" Series Gipsy Danger

Guillermo Del Toro's monster sized epic, Pacific Rim, has come and gone from theaters to DVDs and BluRays. However, the products are still coming out at full throttle! On top of NECA's line of seven inch figures, the company is starting to put out a line of 18 inch tall figures starting with our lead Mark 3 Jaeger, Gipsy Danger.

Figure Review - S.H. MonsterArts MechaGodzilla

Just to let you guys know, this is not my first S.H. MonsterArts MechaGodzilla. I bought this one the other week from Amazon.com to replace the one I currently have. Why? Apparently my first MechaGodzilla figure had a chipped tooth. I discovered this relatively recently and based on photos of it from when I first got it back in December 2011, I must've accidentally broke it when I put the figure's beam effect in its mouth (I do not suggest that at all... more on that later.)

So in the spur of the moment during Black Friday shopping on Amazon, I couldn't help but snag this one along with the tons of other stuff I bought as well. Back in 2011, when I first got this figure, The Kaiju Planet did not exist, so I felt that this would be a good opportunity to give this guy a proper review.

Figure Review - Ultra-Act Mother of Ultra

Before we start things off, I am only familiar with Mother of Ultra, the first and only (so far) female Ultraman, from her appearance in the movie, Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend The Movie, so for any of you Ultraman fans out there, forgive me if I get some details and facts wrong in this review. Without further ado, let us begin!
