Figure Review - Ultra-Act Ultraman Ace

My quest to collect the Ultra-Act figures of the Ultra Brothers is nearing its end! In early August, Tamashii Nations reissued the Ultra-Act Ultraman Ace, which was originally released last October. I missed out on buying it the first time, but thankfully Ace was rereleased!

A little information about Ultraman Ace - He appeared in his own television series in 1972. This is the first Ultraman to possess two human hosts simultaneously: a man for courage, and a woman for love and peace. Since his own series, Ace has appeared in various other Ultraman series and films over the last 30 years. His most recent appearance was in the movie, Ultraman Saga

For those who do not buy nor collect Ultra-Act, this figure stands at around six inches tall, the normal standard height for these figures. There are points of articulation in the figure's neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, mid-section, legs, knees, and ankles.

The Ultra-Act Ultraman Ace is definitely one of the greats in this line, right up there with the Ultra-Act Zoffy. The articulation on this guy is really smooth and he is able to hold a pose without the use of a Tamashii Stage Act stand.

Along with the usual option hands, the Ultra-Act Ultraman Ace comes with several other neat accessories. The first is his Metallium Ray as seen above.

Ace also comes with his Ultra Guillotine effect.

He also comes with the Ace Blade, a sword that Ultraman Ace can materialize from sheer will.

Lastly, as with any other Ultra-Act figure, Ace comes with his red color timer, signaling that he is losing power!

So what is there else to say? The Ultra-Act Ultraman Ace is a great figure. It has met my expectations and exceeded them with the great effects parts. I have yet to see Ace's series yet, but hopefully it'll receive a stateside DVD release someday.

Now with Ultraman, Zoffy, Ultraman Jack, Ultraman Taro, and Ultraman Ace under my belt, all I need to complete my Brothers lineup is the renewal version of the Ultra-Act Ultra Seven, which should be releasing this weekend. I hope to snag Seven soon! I also have the web exclusive Ultra-Act Mother of Ultra and rerelease of Father of Ultra on reservation as well.
